Pessimistic Ideas

I am extremely short tempered and pessimistic these days. It must be a protective mechanism or something. I am either one of two things, numb, or pessimistic and pissed off.

I cannot deal with people's shit these days. Could it be PTSD?

It could be. These are also symptoms of depression which can often go hand in hand with PTSD. Being "numb" and not present is common in PTSD too. I often find myself so angry and depressed that I can't talk to other people for long periods of time. It annoys me too much. On a brighter note, anger is also a sign of healing and coming to accept things that cannot be changed. This is a very natural process for a trauma survivor. I hope that helps a little.

I would never say what it could or couldn't be, but I feel like that too often. One thing that helps me a LOT when I feel like that, is to go to this place where the waves smash in and the wind is usualy high. I stand there and scream, shout, say every darn thing I want to say to whoever.
Maybe even scream to myself... Then I just sit there for a while. Feeling empty. And I am and it helps. Helps me. But worth a try?

Uncontrollable and unexplainable emotions are more often due to underlying biochemical imbalances that are responsible for most mood disorders including PTSD. These need to be addressed before attempting to talk yourself out of it by lengthy and ineffective talk therapy sessions. Logical argument won't help.

"Anger management and hypoglycemia"

Mr Plesman has been booted from the forum for self promotion by the moderators. He is trolling, his ideas are very 'single minded' and only push his own personal 'agenda'.

Jurrian Plesman has NO training nor education on PTSD. His 'nutritional' credentials he uses as the basis for his tidbits of 'advice' an from an online diploma mill.

I'd be wary of following ANYTHING he has said.

A real, ethical, credentialed psychotherapist would never make such a statement. Jurrian Plesman is an excellent cautionary tale....that while getting a basic degree in psychology does not qualify a person to be an actual psychotherapist, it can't stop someone from trolling the Internet and claiming to be.

He is a great example of a lay person using the Internet to appear to be an expert.

Food for thought:

"At the same time, psychopaths are good imposters. They have absolutely no hesitation about forging and brazenly using impressive credentials to adopt professional roles that bring prestige and power. They pick professions in which the requisite skills are easy to fake, the jargon is easy to learn, and the credentials are unlikely to be thoroughly checked. Psychopaths find it extremely easy to pose as financial consultants, ministers, psychological counselors and psychologists."

It's always a good idea to consider the possibility that people posting in online forums may not have our best interests at heart.
