Thanks for teaching us what the green-headed bee is, @bellbird . I'll know how to formally greet the next one I see. :)

Here's a picture of the finished project of giving mom's silk roses new life. Dad started buying her a dozen roses each year after their 25th wedding anniversary. After a couple years of that, she told him that was a pretty big expense and she thought he'd be better off just getting a silk arrangement that would last forever....so that was her next anniversary gift.

The greens were no longer green, the baby's breath was grey, dingy, and brownish, the ribbon was droopy, and the roses were coated with a whole lot of dust and were no longer fully red. I wish I'd thought to take a before pic, but I was on a mission and it escaped my brain in the moment. I have gained a whole new respect for folks in the floral arranging arena, that's for sure. But anyway, here's the finished product that she'll soon be able to enjoy once again:

I am a Floral Designer by trade. You did a great job revitalizing your mother’s roses. You deserve to be proud of yourself. Very nicely done. ??

You don't know how much that means to me, @Still Standing .

I doubted myself big time, convinced I'd totally screw them up, and had dropped them off at a florist, but she was slammed with business and wouldn't get to them until next week.

Then I called another florist and he kindly explained what he would do, giving me confidence to do it myself.

My hands ache from all the wire wrapping and floral tape wrapping, but it was a labor of love that I'm so glad I ended up doing myself.

Your kind words bring much relief and joy to my heart, and happy tears to my eyes. Thank you.
