@bellbird OK, that is awesomely nice, but now I am so curious as to what the safe place looks like, if it is no too personal and you could share?
I'll have to keep that one a secret, sorry
But a little imagination can get you very far ;)
Actually, no. I will share some photos :)
The safe space that the bridge leads to is one where I will often blend with my child part, Little bellbird.
It's a place where we can just get away from "being an adult" for a short while.
I often find myself skipping through the grassy meadows, and under trees that reach so tall into the sky.
Or calling back to the native birds in the style of their own song, and smiling as they respond in turn and fly down to a lower branch to get a closer look at me.
While I'm there I feel totally free and at peace. It is glorious beyond words.
I've just come back from an adventure there, and I brought up the idea of sharing photos of the safe space here, with Little.
We ended up taking some photos and decided that we wanted to share their beauty with forum friends, and that doing so would still maintain the secrecy of our space.
Today's adventure felt more special than usual.
When I posted the photo of the bridge, I thought that it looked nice, but I certainly was not expecting the big positive reaction it got.
I think I was slightly guilty of taking for granted the beauty around me. Today I was not guilty of that.
I took it all in with great mindfulness; every sight and sound fueling my childlike wonder and joy, until it filled every ounce of my being.
For those glorious moments, there was no trauma. No PTSD. Only love and light.
While we are once again back in our normal world (sitting in a doctor's waiting room as I write), we know that we can return there again. And we also keep these photos from today to take us back to that time, and to share with you all the beauty that we experienced.
