Planing A Trip

I will be thinking of you. I have driven from LA to North Carolina with my daughter and we had the best time ever. Your country is so beautiful we took 3 months and a couple of broken legs, but it was a trip that I will never forget. I hope you have as much joy as I had ( minus the broken legs ) and you will feel so proud of yourself for doing it.

Take me with you in your mind and we can have some laughs together.

Take care

Sammy

On days like today I have to wonder if I am out of my mind. I know I push my limits in pain. On a day like today movement is not an option. If I do this trip I have to manage my disabilties. I have to plan for longer travel times or longer stay times while treking accross country.

Having a bit of sef doubt

When I went to visit my son, I was terrified of would I be able to 'walk' through the airport or need a wheelchair, will I be able to walk trails, the beach, ect. I found out, some of it I could do, other things I rested. For example in the car...lol...as they walked the beach. The view was still beautiful, I took a nap and meditated.

So, consider planning slower or allowance for less tasking and just trust yourself to know what you need. I believe in you!!!!:tup:

@Nighthawk Lovely area of the country to explore (your avatar looks just my best friend). How well do you do with heat in nature? I keep my camping to best of basic necessary. Packing unpacking can wear you out. Plan as best you can for necessary, keeping to minimum. Adjust for unexpected as you go on your journey. May the road rise with you :)

and maybe you are wise...:hug:

@Nighthawk Bella and I camp also. 2 years ago in my tiny Marmot tent (used for motorcycle camping - thousands of miles) I was two weeks post surgery for badly broken ankle and foot, ladder injury, not moto. We had no where to stay for a bit so camped. She loved it fine and so did I. Old Volvo wagon for backup.

Are you tent camping or vehicle?

One item I have kept for years (not for moto camp journeys) is a butane fueled single burner cooker. Light to port around, fast to heat up anything, and fuel last a good long time. Got mine at Ace. Power could go out where I live and it was a keeper for emergency outage or camping. Bella was wary of the tent at first, after first night all fine. Made sure to keep fleece blanket between the floor of tent and her nails (even well trimmed). I am jonesing after a road trip myself.

With you in spirit in your journey.
