Study Posttraumatic Growth Research Study: Participants Needed

Hi, Girl 3. There are reasons for choosing three years following the traumatic life event-it wasn't as if I selected it out of the blue. If and when my dissertation is completed, I will be happy to share that with you. Please understand that I cannot speak freely on some of the topics you mentioned (most notably multiple traumas) without the risk of affecting responses when participants respond to my survey study. However, some of the issues you raised will be discussed in my paper.

With that said, I need to make some things clear for you and others that are reading this: I am not looking for individuals that have only experienced one traumatic event...they are eligible to participate if they have experienced more than one event in the past three years. However, when responding to the study's questions, each participant is to refer to one event, which is explained in the survey. Thank you for bringing that up-perhaps I need to revise the advertisement of my study if it's causing confusion.

Last, my inclusion criteria never mention that participants need to have developed or been diagnosed with PTSD. I am merely looking for individuals that have experienced a traumatic life event, or events as you brought up, within the past three years. I figured this forum would attract individuals that fit my eligibility criteria. My survey study is on other Websites as well; this is one of two where PTSD is the main item of business.

Stephen77, You wrote : "this is one of two where PTSD is the main item of business." Sharing intimate thoughts and feelings on this website as a human being with PTSD is one of me taking a big risk. It makes me feel vulnerable and exposed. I constantly have to ask myself "is what I am feeling normal?"

I have a major trauma just outside the 3 years (it was 3 years on Tuesday), but I did the survey in the spirit of the thing, ie. as if I had done it prior to Tuesday;) Hope it is able to be used and I would sincerely hope it helps others.

The survey seemed very heavily based on religion, and indicate a strong religious bias, not scientific questions. I did not complete after reading so many questions based on religion.
