One of the biggest problems I have with academia and PTSD is that I'm also dealing with physical impairments. And instructors that do not understand. Even if I have a letter from the Disability Services office at the college, it can be nearly impossible to work with some instructors.

The disability letter spells out every accommodation you are entitled to. If a professor doesn’t accommodate you, this is in violation of federal law and the disabilities office will help you work with your professor.
