What a delightful turn of events! My practicum started on January 5. I am an intake worker and a general advocate at my practicum. I never thought in my mind that myself, an entry level social service worker, would be offered the job my second week in.
Not only am I thrilled, I am surprised! I took the offer in a heartbeat. This is something I've wanted to do for so many years and getting an offer this young makes it that much easier for me to gain experience. Better wage and goodbye to the service industry.
On another note, it will be nice to finally have less hours and focus on my own healing as well as assisting others. Starting to transition out of being a work addict and my health is already starting to look up because of it.
