While doing my "homework" tonight I stumbled upon this website that showed different stages of recovery. The reason was because after my initial three weeks of intensive treatment, it felt as if I took a step backwards and had a super bad low, that I hadn't experienced in a very long time. It was relieving to me to know that this third stage was actually progression. Hoping this information is helpful to you out there as well.

The first of the post-traumatic stress stages is referred to as either the outcry stage or the emergency stage. During this stage, your responses to everything around you will be intense and your anxiety levels will be off-the-chart high; this often the stage where you will feel the instinctual “fight or flight” response kicking into gear.

The second of the PTSD stages is referred to as the denial or the numbing stage... In this phase, you will instinctively do your utmost to protect yourself from further mental anguish by denying the emotions that you are truly struggling with..many find that they are not able to move beyond the numbing stage.

The third of the PTSD stages is referred to as the intrusive repetitive phase. You may find...you are now experiencing nightmares, flashbacks, and are increasingly anxious and jumpy. This can often be the most destructive of all of the post-traumatic stress stages.

In the fourth stage is called the transition stage because you begin to move into a new level of acceptance and understanding of what happened and how it has been affecting your life. This is the stage where healing finally starts to occur.

The fifth stage, known as the integration stage, occurs when you begin to successfully work through your PTSD recovery program.

The stages are helpful to be described so clearly.

In real life, I think the stages can overlap, and that you can go through the stages, many times, to different depths, dealing with different traumas. (My image is of a spiral, going upwards, with progressive healing.)

I hope someone will do a similar writeup that specifically includes dissociation stuff in detail, and stages of dealing with that! There are probably different types or something even within that... but I think some general things could be done; maybe there is stuff written that I just haven't found or am not remembering today...

...so each part of the dissociation list can read like this...
9. List item 9... read this! this means you.
9a. Remembering that there is a list at all
9b. Stopping staring into space so I can read the rest of list item 9. ow! my neck hurts.
9c. Thinking about how interesting item 9 is theoretically, gosh that must be hard for all those other people to deal with
