Prozosin - Geodon?

So, I'm on both Prozosin and Geodon and I've noticed since I started the prozosin that I'm sleepier than usual - typically I need a nap in the afternoon. I also raised the dosage of my geodon at the same time, so it's possible that's what's causing the sleepiness. But there are some days like today and yesterday where I just can't seem to 'wake up' and I end up spending the day in bed never feeling like I've gotten enough rest. Anyone else experience this?

It doesn't happen often and it's better than the nightmares, but like today I had to pick up an antibiotic for Abel and totally slept through vet hours. :(

I know this is old, but I believe these two meds are contraindicated... Are you still taking both of them?

Do you mean prazosin? I took that for awhile when my flashbacks were really bad at night and I could not fall asleep. It really helped at the time. She Rx'd a normal amount, but told me because I am high panic that I may take half. They were capsules and I cannot remember the dosage, but I opened it and just took half then the rest the next night. If I really wanted to be knocked out I would take the whole thing. It acts causes you to have less adrenaline and lowers your bp quite a bit, a beta-blocker. I was drowsy upon awakening. I would have to be careful when standing up because my heart would just start pumping really hard, making me dizzy. After my nightmares and flashbacks got less I started to feel drained and my anxiety was worse. I discontinued it, but it saved me from the flashbacks. It is a wonderful drug, but for me I could not take it unless I was really working hard in therapy and could not aleviate the horrible flashbacks at night. Towards the end my nighmares began getting more vivid than when I did not take them. Hope this helps:)
