Sounds like her book is going to suck anyways, and like she needs all the help she can get as an author. Hahaha, but seriously, I understand not everyone feels this way, but I couldn't care less if someone here reads my posts who is interested in them as someone other than a sufferer or a supporter. Portraying herself as someone who needs help, and soliciting help form people on this site though, is not very nice, as people take their time and effort to write replies. I write many replies on here not because I like the sound of my own voice, but because I hope they might be of some use or help to someone.
I could be willing to help explain PTSD to an author to help them accurately and respectfully portray it in a novel but only if they were up front with me and I would want more information on their ideas of how they would portray their character.
There are far too many negative characterizations of PTSD, and every other mental disorder, in this country. It is divisive and alienates people, as does the vast majority of the media.
