Richard Bentall has done a pile of work on pre cursors to psychoses, he's found that sex abuse and mind fecking psychological abuse are strongly correlated with hallucination type of psychosis
Violent abuse is correlated with paranoid type symptoms.
Bentall has some books, they're a tough read, but you're well capable of handling them, "madness explained " is the one I've read
Bentall subjects the current paradigm (that assumes that it's all chemical, because that's scientific... medics tend to be very needy people ) to some absolutely withering logic.
Some lighter stuff would be listening to Colin Ross being interviewed by Guy macphearson on his trauma therapist podcast site.
Colin Ross gives a version of Thomas szasz quote "in mental health, it's not what's wrong with you? it's what happened to you?" "There's only biography and auto biography"
There's also a pre chemicalism theory of psychosis coming from the impossible double bind situations that you were placed in as a child. I've got a copy of it. I'll find the ref. I'll also send you a pm
