The sales are very slow however I have given away about 30. Have had some encouraging responses. A social worker rang to say it made her cry. Several people said they could not put it down. Many,I feel, don't know what to say. There is a lot of traumatic stuff in it. My youngest daughter, who never reads anything, rang up crying several times.

Congrats Tessa! I'm a writer too. I was writing a memoir about my life and trauma but had to take a break because it about caused another breakdown. Maybe someday soon...So yes you are very brave especially to share your PTSD experience! You go girl!!!!!!

I think that's great!!!

After a wall of silence had some positive feedback. It is so hard with a low self esteem and a little voice inside which tempts me with thoughts of everything which could go wrong. You think at least the psychologists I sent it to could say thankyou.

You would think, oh my! I really, REALLY do not wish to sound snitty-truly! it's just that I kind of grew up around academics and they can be a little competative when it comes to others being published-perhaps haven't quite gotten the grace together yet to say Thank You, that's all.I truly am sorry to sound so ungrascious myself with that statement-it's not mean to come across as a blanket statement ot terribly judgemental-honest!! Kind of gives me the willies to sound critical like that-it's just a 'thing' I've noticed sometimes. You'll probably hear something eventually, and nicely positive, I'm sure!

SO many congrats for having seen this book all the way through, Tessa!!! Hugs and Peace, and best wishes for success.

Anni

Dear Tessa,
Once again lost everything I wrote but just wanted to say congratulations and I wish you would ask Anthony if you could private message the name or give the name of the book. It would help me. I might be something that I could give to friends and family so they understand. An autobiography is much more interesting to read than dry material that describes PTSD. The book "A boy called It" influenced me although I was too triggered and couldn't read it, I knew what was in there because my name was "Scum" and I was kept in a basement.

Congrats on your radio interview!!!! I used to be afraid of public speaking until my brother committed suicide and I forced myself to speak about it for a large organization in the U.S. You did it because you care about people. You wrote this book to help others. You are amazing!!
Hugs,
Gloria

Thankyou Anni and Gloria, I have had some good feedback however the psychologist who talked to me for a year and walked me through 4 months off work on stress leave when I wrote most of the book, has not finished it and told me she did not even know where it was. Something very profound and deep snapped inside me. Perhaps it triggered the longing of acceptance and positive feedback from my parents...who also have no comment ?

Dear Tessa,
That's totally understandable. Your T may make you feel like your parents - just not important. You know we PTSD sufferers have abandonment and rejection issues big time. What you did was brave and very important. I was involved in a lawsuit where 3 police officers beat me up for no reason (no charges filed, just sitting on ground). But the police attorneys put me through three years of hell and I lost the casse because basicly (with the help of psychiatrist who only does court testimonies) they made me appear crazy and a liar. I never even got a traffic ticket but the point is that my lawyer is going to try to use my transcripts and horrible questions that were totally irrelevant to the case (sexuall abuse) during the deposition to change laws. Every time one of us stands up and isn't afraid to talk about our PTSD, we will change the world.

I say Bang On!!! Great Job!!
Gloria
