11 yrs a long time! Has she always been that way? I have an online friend that suffers from PTSD that has shut me out and I don't know if he'll ever come back around. It's an awful feeling to just have to wait. It's a challenge to try to keep yourself going day after day worrying and wondering and not being able to do anything, obsessively checking to see if he might of sent an email. I keep telling myself to let it go but it is so much easier said than done. It has helped to learn that this is a common behavior pattern with sufferers, and that I'm not alone.

Hi there. I do have a question. When your sufferer takes his "time out" in isolation, he just quietly moves away, or he makes a scene, saying you are not good to him(her), you are toxic, disrespectful, etc, then ignores you for days or weeks, before showing back on your doorstep? I have been seriously attacked verbally and in texts by the girl I love, and all I do is try to support her. Not good enough obviously...

@Aching65 - I know this sounds ridiculous but try not to take it personally. When my sufferer is having an episode he has accused me of disloyalty (the worst trait in the world in the eyes of an infantry soldier), selfishness, being a gold-digger, etc etc. Please don't take what she says to heart and don't believe that any of it is actually your fault.

You need to decide whether you are prepared to put up with it. That's a whole different question.
