It's just difficult for me to trust anyone and I feel like psych professionals have previously made t...
I empathise entirely.
I will say reporting rape even when not prosecuted for me resolved that aspect of it. The police are aware and my evidence remains for anyone else who reports.
The attitudes afterwards is a far bigger issue. The more complicate issue surrounding unusual circumstances, societal perception, poor handling and critically reactions of people torn in the very complicated situations were traumatising. Nothing can be done about this by quick fix. But neither is it the fault of the person who suffers the trauma.
I will point out my therapist is clear that she feels i minimise the event. I don’t feel i do but accept i am not in position to judge. I do feel that there us a wider societal issue towards some issues that can be very confounding.
I will also say this is also seen even here, a place for support where it's fair to ask pointed questions but where approach can be quite off putting sometimes. For those of us whose trauma included difficult aftermath perhaps this is more off-putting? I don’t know, but this is for me in fragile state something i find very difficult. It doesn’t encourage me to combat things like minimising : quite the contrary.
