Readers thread: what or who are you reading right now?

Friend Request, Laura Marshall, Grand Central Publishing - Hachette Book Group 2017

150 pages into ^^^ and decided to give it a rest. I might come back to it. It's a bit juvenile? Maybe deliberately so and I probably haven't given it time for the plot to develop sufficiently yet.

Just finished Wrath James' White new poetry collection, If You Died Tomorrow I Would Eat Your Corpse, which was fantastic, as expected. Along with that, I'm also about halfway through Robert Kirkman's new comic series, Outcast.
I'm also about halfway through Sexual Anorexia: Overcoming Self-Hatred by Patrick Carnes, which has been extremely helpful so far -- I've had this problem for so long and didn't know how to articulate it, but 'sexual/intimacy anorexia' is a perfect way to describe it. I would definitely recommend looking it up if you're having trouble with chronically avoiding/preventing sex and intimate situations, or really any other issues similar to them. So far the book's answers to the 'what's and the 'why's of sexual anorexia have proven very insightful, though his constant, ever-increasing praise of AA and associated Anonymous groups and lack of non-12-Step frameworks to do the exercises/recovery with is already starting to wear on me a bit,

Wow, its really strange to me that so many of you also experienced reading less to none after your trauma.I have the same experience, and now Im sick from work Im trying to get back into reading.

Daytime reading is 12 rules for life by jordan peterson. Nighttime reading is Harry Potter and the Halfblood prince. I can dream the Harry Potter books by now, so if I lose my focus for a couple of sentences (or pages) there's no problem or irritation towards myself.

I could get completely lost in books, totally unaware of my surroundings. Now I cant seem to focus because everything distracts me. While typing this sentence it comes to mind that that's not that weird when you have ptsd.

I could get completely lost in books,

Yeah I frequently do. :)

Now I cant seem to focus because everything distracts me

This happens and I have to go back and re-read...I try not to get too irritated with myself now.

hat's not that weird when you have ptsd.

No..it's not unusual.

I have just finished reading a book that I really thought I had read a few years ago but it was only a suspicion. It was only at the very last line on the last page that I confirmed to myself that I had read the book. I still enjoyed the book though.
