Really Angry About Having To Divulge So Much Detail To Claim Disability

Springer80, yes I do trust she has my best interests at heart, what I'm not sure of - is that she knows what Centrelink will need to hear to approve the claim.

My concern is that is takes someone who really knows the system to adequately represent you and so your suggestion AS1975, is a really excellent one. Having a Social Worker to represent you would absolutely help.

There is another form of social worker, the advocate, which has been underrepresented in this Country. Someone who can, working on a referral from a doctor (with a Medicare Provider Number), who can take up the fight on the behalf of people who are fighting the system. It is a full-time job and beyond the capacity of many, requiring communication skills and a dispassionate approach that are unavailable to many, especially when fighting for themselves.

I'm just wondering how to develop the idea,

A friend of mine who contacted ptsd in adulthood from a severe car accident in a developing country and endured a protracted and painful repatriation has for the past three years been trying to cope with the legal and insurance procedures. Her initial legal representation was so bad that they repeatedly re-traumautised her. In fact if she had the capacity, which she doesn't she would sue the company for secondary trauma or at he very least try and get them struck off from dealing with legal cases dealing with ptsd.

Paradoxically the longer they squabble and ask her to repeat diagnostic appointment the harder and more expensive it will be to treat.

Ok, for starters there are this mob ([DLMURL]http://www.wrcqld.org.au/employment-services/what-you-need-to-know/job-capacilty-assessments.html[/DLMURL]), which may be able to help some people. There is also more 'earthy' advice for those dealing with Centrelink/Human Services. Don't take no for an answer, don't get angry get what you want by working through the various requirements and then involving either elected representatives or others. From experience, dropping the return of serve as high up the ladder as possible and letting shit roll naturally downhill always works for me.

Mine have been awesome, I'm so sorry to hear she had such knob jockeys.
My solicitor is still in training, under several other highly qualified ones, he's still quite young (and rather handsome, at 6'5, dark and chiseled :sorry::sneaky:) but he always takes the time with me, doesn't bullshit me, but keeps an eye on how our conversation goes when he can see I'm flagging.

I guess I'm pretty fortunate, although the first time I met his supervising firm partner, I stood on the metal footrest under his really nice desk which flipped up and connected solidly with his shin with a loud "whang".

All I got was a very over exaggerated poker face and a distinct "ow!".....me would have crawled under the desk with embarrassment, but I think I woulda "whanged" his other shin!

Received a letter from Centrelink today, saying my case is being reveiwed by someone who has not been involved in the case so far.

Yes, they are taking their sweet time, put the reports in 3 weeks ago, and only just received an acknowledgement letter.

Really hope this 'reviewing officer' can see from all the very invasive and highly detailed reports about my trauma history, how severe my PTSD & MDD is and that my situation is worsening and apparently will 'continue to for the forseeable future', sees sense and just bloody agrees to the claim.

Will be interesting to see if they have contacted my pdoc yet, as she requested they contact her to discuss my case further. I see her tomorrow.
