I have done a couple of things to soothe myself
That is great that you were proactive and did some self soothing. Way to go!

It is hard when you do self soothing, and you still feel so low. I feel for you! It is still worth doing though as it will build up over time.

I am so sorry you are going through this difficult time. I just want to share with you a couple things that have helped me get through some tough times.
One is the idea that you are not your thoughts. So even when ideas and thoughts and feelings come to you, you have the power to accept them or reject them. Like during meditation when you are trying to empty your mind and let go of the thoughts and the mind clutter, you get to control all of your thoughts and ideas and feelings.

The second thing is an image, imagine a peanut, and think about how much energy it takes to push that peanut. It really doesn’t take a lot of energy to push that peanut, but some days it may seem overwhelming. On those days, remind yourself that all you have to do is push that peanut, even if it’s just a tiny little fraction of a millimeter, it is still progress. So, even if it doesn’t seem like a lot that you are gong outside for only 5 minutes. Give yourself credit for pushing the peanut.
