Rejection by siblings

Asked my siblings, two of whom don't believe about the incest, if they'd meet with me and my counselor. I began by saying I miss being close to them. They said no. The sibling who experienced abuse cried. I am shut down and can't function.

I am so sorry! It has to feel like a punch in the gut...My heart goes out to you, from what I'm reading here on these forums this is very common - I know it doesn't make it any less painful, but you're not alone. You are doing everything right.

You are the healthy one. The one that got help, not sweeping it under the rug. That was extremely brave, like crazy brave to ask them. There was existing trauma there for your sister, but maybe you gave her some courage today. You never know. :hug:

I'm sorry. I understand the missing of your siblings. My siblings didn't 'deny" it but also rejected me because life is about being fun, fun, fun, and successful! Just deal with it, blah blah blah.... it's a lonely place to be. They are successful and we do have fun when together-I'm not that successful, and not exactly a barrel full of monkeys all the time. I am no longer included in the trips and festivities-it's bee that way since I approached them that I was having hard time facing the truth. it's sad.
