Panic attack. someone is repeatedly calling my office phone. Over a dozen times. Finally called the campus police. I'm in tears.

Started off asking for someone who works here part time then started to ask for someone who doesn't work here.
If I ignored the number they would call back IMMEDIATELY. My phone was ringing solidly for over an hour.

So bad I had to take medication for it.

Oh god. I think they've stopped but my anxiety is through the roof!

I've calmed down a bit. Meds helped but give me med head.
Campus police called me back. Said it was an overseas scam, a very complex one.
Hopefully they are done with my number

@anthony I came close. VERY close. I tried answering and hanging up, I tried talking to them, I tried ignoring the call, I tried leaving it off the hook (which was silly because I have more than one line- it rang anyway!)
It was just too much. I would hang up and it would ring again within three second. after the 20th time I was in tears. I finally had to leave my office and call UPD from someone else's desk.

They started up again at noon and I managed to get IT to block the number. I took a long lunch.

UPD said it was an elaborate overseas scam. They were pfishing for information.

Scammers were back at it today. 15 calls in less than ten minutes. At one point, I put them on hold and I got another call from them while they were on hold. I've NEVER had anything like this happen.
They've stopped for the moment but I just sent my boss an email that I'm OUT! That's all that my nerves can take for the day.
