I was addicted to them. I'm most probably addicted to Benzos now. I can under stand why we ask for and get pain meds, because initially, they also have a calming effect on our PTSD. However, over time, they don't kill the pain any more and you're essentially taking them cause you're addicted. It took me a couple of months of tapering off them to get clean. One of the most miserable withdrawal experiences I've ever had.

Made me hurt more but I'm glad to be rid of them.

I have a nerve/muscule problem with a disc getting ready to collapse. So once in a while, I need to take hydrocodone. When I do, that itchy tacky feeling starts, and then the dopiness. I really feel bad for guys that are worse than me (Jimmy) and take serious meds. I have enough of a chemical pool going on. Benzos are bad enough.
