Sufferer Roadside Bombs And More. Hello.

Just putting an introduction in here to say Hi to everybody.

A little about myself in short would be I'm a 24 year old sufferer of PTSD. My PTSD is related to searching for roadside bombs overseas as a machine gunner. The rest I feel doesn't really serve any cause for me to write about. It's something I have to learn to accept and adapt to now.

So here I am.
3 years down. X amount to go.

In my personal recovery, talking about causes of my PTSD is a distant second to dealing with my symptoms. I generally save my specifics for those symptoms. The cause of a nightmare is not as important as coping in the face of those nightmares, etc., etc. Yeah, dealing often calls for talking about those root causes, but I don't ever expect it to make tasty small talk.

Whatever it is for you, Saint, hope you find healing support here.

That's the great thing about this website... share what you want, what you can, when you can. There's no pressure. Everyone understands how difficult it is. There are a lot of supportive people here and some great information, too.

This site is a good one but its not geared for combat PTSD. We are all over on the combat site. I found this one first just like you. I still pop in now and again but I spend 99% of my time in the combat site. I strongly recommend giving it a look over. The site has relaxed rules, no grammar Nazis like this site has. Its very different.

Hi, I'm wondering if this site will help me as I'm not military but suffered severe injuries as a result of a terrorist attack, I've suffered PTSD for 8 years but only recently admitted I had a problem, I'm new to forums and looking for guidance on how this works, sorry to jump into the conversation.

Dan, you are already in the right place. The combat site is set up for combat vets as we have different issues than other PTSD suffers.
