I also do the ruminating out loud, usually stating what I wish I could say to some low life form that desperately needs to hear it. Drives the dog nuts, and I can't tell you how many times I have been asked by someone that has overheard me what was that I had just said and had to quickly think of an acceptable substitute for what I had actually said. My t has told me that I am doing an inadvertant version of a technique some psychs condone, using a verbal statement to break an internal thought spiral before it gets too far along.
