Seroquel And Paralysation

Hey, I was on Seroquel and my dreams (and nightmares) were as vivid as when I was high-altitude camping. Seroquel WILL make the dreams more vivid and you'll remember them, but "what" you dream is something else. There is dream analysis and some common dream themes that you can look into (I'm not sure about any of it), but my take on the "not being able to scream" thing is that your dream is a very common anxiety dream. There's also the "not being able to run away" or the "you punch somebody, but find that you have no muscle strength." There's the MEMORY dream, (like one that I have) but that is one that plays over and over and NEVER strays from the details.

;)

The dream is different than the drug. The interpretation is going to be different for everybody, but in my experience, it's how you choose to DESCRIBE the dream that's important. The important thing for you is that you weren't able to scream and, since you're on this forum in the first place, ... something happened that you think will happen again? I don't know.

My therapist says that those kind of drugs promote rem sleep. From what I gather, if it is the only thing that works for you, it's worth it in my opinion.

Seroquel just knocks you out. When you start taking it, you have vivid dreams and you are completely, washed-out tired. ;) It's like taking a sleeping pill first thing in the morning.... except you get the dreams and remember them. ;)

I have been on Seraquel for about 6 weeks. Screaming awake nightmares have stopped and so has the insomnia.
Recently though I have been awaking in a gasp. My councilor called them Nocturnal Panic attacks.
ANyone else have this type of experience . The attacks have been after a few weeks of no interrupted sleep.

I have only had valium once. Never again. It was like being dead. It knocks you out and makes you feel nothing. It doesn't give you good quality sleep either. You wake up feeling like you have a hangover.
Is seroquel like valium?

I find that I have a better quality of sleep on seroquel. I wake up rested and it reminds me of the kind of sleep I used to get when I didn't need meds. I dream as well.

I used lorazepam as a sleep aid for years. I had permanent circles under my eyes, and was perpetually exhausted. I don't remember dreaming when I took it, but was also taking a number of other psychotropics which could have caused that.

I take seroquel 50mg at night, and it really helps me sleep. The last 2 nights, as an experiment I did not take any at all.The first night I slept 4 hours, last night just 3. So I have given in and taken the 50mg again tonight as I need to function at work tomorrow.

I wish I did not need it, but have just proven to myself that I still do. I have been taking it for nearly 2 years now.
