Seroquel For Treating Mood Swings For Those With Complex Trauma - Is It Effective?

Yes @PTSDbegone. You should be feeling something, what did they say it was for? 400mg is a high dose.

Also I am menopausal. My GP refused to give me a patch, until the psychiatrist saw me about other meds. I mean WTF. I do eat healthy. Not into junk at all. I even have a green juice every morning - yes kale, spinach, etc. buy it at the markets from this group who only grow organic veg on some commune farm. Perhaps I should join them there!

@Lizio I am on medication for depression and anxiety mainly. I have tried a few different meds, and haven't noticed a difference. The only thing I have noticed is drowsiness. I have a hard time taking the meds because I figure if it's not helping me any then why take them in the first place. We don't know what the long term effects are. Then again I think why do I even care? I am waiting for a call from the local hospital to go in for a med. assessment. That'll be interesting. I also wonder if some of the meds have made me feel numb, and that's why I haven't noticed a difference. If this is the case then I guess the meds are doing their job, and it's suppose to help me cope with the work I am doing in therapy. It's all so confusing.

I also have my green smoothie everyday. I purchased a Vitamix a few years ago, and it was the best investment I ever made. I use it daily for smoothies, soups, juices, etc..

Update I saw second psychiatrist who seemed very knowledgeable about meds. He does not like Seroquel at all. Says it is over-prescribed, wrongly prescribed, shouldn't be prescribed with the combinations of meds, such as with antidepressants, in Victoria they have put out a warning to GPs who are wrongly prescribing it. Also says it is like a similar drug Thioridazine which is now banned because it causes sudden heart failure and there are starting to be links with Seroquel and the same thing. Doesn't think it helps with anxiety and depression either. So glad I stuck to my guns.

I like the new guy, @Lizio. I hope you can continue getting good support there.[/Q...
Actually going to pm you about the zyban, he says I can get it cheaper mail order from a place in Canada, & wants me to go on 300mg XL instead of the 150mg x2 I am on now. Says to get the generic brand.

Oh and he said the reason it probably works for my anxiety is because I am probably on the ADHD scale and it peps me up, so I am less anxious. Says for others it can make them very irritable, but for me the giving me more energy, makes things better.
