My mother was on seroquel, she had PTSD. What I noticed was that she would get very dizzy and could not walk after she took it. It was being prescribed for sleep for "off label" usage.
It can have a lot of side efffects: the ones she experienced were weight gain, stiff muscles, diziness and some more. She was prescribed this drug which is for treatment of schizophrenia and bi-polar illness, because the drug was non-addictive and helped her sleep.
I was concerned because of her drinking and age of another side effect, early dementia, as she seemed forgetful and her personality was changing. If it helps you that is great but this was definitely a battle as the prescribing doctor would not take her off of the drug, only reduce the dosage. She could not walk after taking this drug because she was very dizzy...even if it was to relieve herself in the bathroom there was the risk that she would fall.
