Reading all this, hearing that you may have "asked for" help, it's such a blurry line. Children can't give consent in that way. It's an adult's job to say if something is appropriate or not. Do you think if you broached this subject with this adult today, they'd be horrified to know how it's impacted you?

I read that wrong at first. I thought you asked me if I told other adults what happened that they'd be horrified.

I don't really want to confront or address this issue with this person because they have a history of invalidating me and putting my needs aside of their own. I think it would drive me to harm myself to even try. I have no desire to, either.

It's not OK to bleed in a pool especially for an extended time. It's exposing many people to blood borne pathogens.

I'm not sure how helpful it is for people to tell you that the person had aggressive intent when you don't believe there was and when they weren't there.

I think its quite sufficient for you to feel distressed about it and get help with that. To go back to your original question we aren't only harmed when there is aggressive intent. Easy examples: medical stuff natural disasters and accidents.

People trying to force you to see intent when you don;t believe there was could cause you more harm rather than help.

Good then the next time a kid pees or poops in the pool they have no reason to close it. They can just scoop that sucker right out of there and it's good as new :)
