Short Disability Insurance Denied

After burning out at work, working 70 hours a week, with little sleep and barely able to concentrate, plus boss calls me idiot when cant stay late at work.
my psychiatrist put me on medical leave after I broke down in tears in her office.
She filled out all necessary paperwork etc. After almost 2 months of waiting for decision, I find out STD is denied.
Denied why? Because I have pre-existing condition, PTSD and Depression and the cause was not work related.
My doctor is angry and is following up with insurance company, yet I am just tired of it all.
My medical leave is indefinite, but if I am not covered I am forced to go back to work earlier than expected, against doctor's advice

70 hours per week is overdoing it....PTSD or not. And if your boss is calling you an idiot thats harrassment.

Go for the jugular.

Take the time to rebuild 'you' then prove to them YOU are ok..its that place thats the problem.

When I told my boss I had PTSD his first response was to ask me if I was going to bring a gun to work because it would "make sense to someone like me". Try and talk to HR, hopefully they are better at dealing with the situation. I know the feeling of not wanting to or being too tired to fight, but this is your life and your sanity, you have no choice but to fight. We are here to support you. Sorry you are in such an uncompromising position.

Contact a local lawyer. Most lawyers these days are willing to work out a percentage cost. IE, you do not have to pay unless they win, and if they win then they will get a percentage of what you make off of the case.

I used the company Binder and Binder in Massachusetts and they got me approved for Social Security Disability in 3 months (from start to finish) they took care of everything for me.

They have a cap on how much they can charge if you win ($6,000 tops) that comes from the money you get for retroactive payment. So it did not cost me a penny really. I only had to pay about 4,000 (again nothing out of my pocket) Their payment goes by how much you recieve in retroactive payment. I think it is about 20% of what you get retro.
