Show and Tell....ART

This post snuck by while I was on holiday. WOW! I so wish I was that artistic! I used to write poetry and I mess around with music a bit too, but art has never been my thing.

I got an A once by accident - I dropped my work into sink full of water and the colours ran all over the place. It looked really cool, so I let it dry and put it back up on my desk. Teacher was most impressed at my "innovation".

By the way, I am most disappointed that Anthony has not contributed his works!!!

Piglet, some of the best work comes from accidents! In fact, in college, we had assignments that were borderline crazy! We had to protray time in art. Someone (not me), put watercolor on paper and let the shower drip on it slowly over a period of a day. The result was beautiful. What did I do? I affixed my paper to the floor and and let the sun rays flow over my paper. Every half hour, I would go paint the shape of the light. Maybe...I have that somewhere....The result was basically a rainbow across the page with all the colors mixing together in the middle.

I used to write poetry and I mess around with music a bit too, but art has never been my thing.

I think that you should start a new thread with poetry in it. And...if only we could listen to music by you composers. My husband is awesome with writing songs. He wrote a beautiful song to me while I was just starting to get better. It was very touching. If I can find the lyrics, I'll put them in...
Piglet, get your stuff out and start! (Like I should talk, I haven't done much art lately..) Anthony, you too!

Okay, just one more of past drawing (ie before PTSD) and then, from now on, only current drawings, etc. I need that shove to get back into it.

This drawing was my rendition of the female body. I was studying picasso and I especially liked his technique in seeing the profile and the front all at the same time.

Stunning! Do you think your drawings look different now? Are you able to concentrate on them better/worse? More emotion in them now?
You've got talent!!

re: Crack of Dawn series ROTFL
My husband has every Crack of Dawn t-shirt made LOL! That's his version of art appreciation :)

Nam, you continue to blow me away with your artistic talents... I will venture into posting some of my crack series then if so requested....

Here's something I did shortly after being diagnosed.

I was bedridden after emergency stomach surgery for 2 weeks.
That's when I started painting again (haven't done any since highschool)
Before my accident, my paintings/drawings had a much different light.
But they are all hanging in homes or galleries, so I can't access them.

YA, thanks for posting. That was great and very brave of you! I have yet to put up a picture from AFTER being diagnosed that had any kind of emotional content. The expression is so sad. The one eye gives so many clues as to what the rest of the face looks like, and the colors...well, you know, somewhat subdued and mellow (for good reason) and then the shocking red and green. I love it. I hope to see more!

I started this one months ago...
just can't seem to finish it.
Figure out what colors to use, etc.,

But here it is anyways...
unfinished

any ideas or comments would be appreciated :)

The shapes are really pleasing and organic. You could do one in stormy colors like blues, greys, heathers, etc. for a darker mood. OR go really rediculous and use day-glo colors and we could all have 60's fun flashbacks!
