Sleep Tight My Love (a Poem By Mr Laurie)

As I sit here alone, contemplating whether I will actually get any sleep tonight I put fingers to keyboards and pen a poem for all to share.

Sleep Tight my Love by Mr Laurie.

Sleep tight my love,
safe in the knowledge
that I am here to protect you,
your sweet breath against my cheek,
calmly breathing as you lay a slumber in my arm's.

I cradle you in my loving embrace,
sleep tight my love,
for I will never forsake nor abandon you,
you are my treasure and My love for you knows no bounds.
Sleep tight my love.

Sleep tight my sweet, safe in the knowledge that my love for you is unwavering
unchanging, I will always love you my love,
as you sleep I lay awake and a tear falls down my cheek,
this is no tear of sadness yet a tear of joy, for I have a reason to cry.

Your love for me has been unwavering and I take comfort in your love.
You stir in your slumber and I simply hold you gently,
caressing your golden hair and gently cradling you back to sleep,
sleep tight my love for I am here.

You awaken and turn to face me, the smile upon your lips tells me a thousand words,
these words need never be spoken,
they are words of the heart and I know these words all so well,
sleep tight my love safe in my warm embrace, sleep tight.
