Yes distance is good for privacy which makes it for a good vacation. Also if you are trying to cushion your father distance can work as long as you are attending a treatment center. As for the sights don't count on it. With inpatient your vacation will be the relief of some of your symptoms. A closer facility will save you money. It boils down to what you want to accomplish. Do you want the distance? I personally liked having family close enough to bring me stuff. So just sort out what you want to accomplish and just go with it.

I don't know. Did you do some research on the program? I know as far top notch universaries I don't think you could go wrong. They probably got an awsome program since they probably get grants for PTSD programs. Just ask them all the questions that you can think of. If you feel comfortible with them go for it. They have to be better than what you are dealing with.

LK1 I looked over on the web to see what was offered and yes you are definatly on the right trac if you can get in. Just saying the get in thing because with the availiby resorces the they clame I would think they get lots of business. You can read lots about them on the web they treat just about everything. I say give it a good go don't half ass it knock on there door until they let you in. I wish there was one that broad up here I would give it a go.

I heard they can keep u there for months without letting you out. Is that true?

I don't know what the lenght of there program is talk to them and ask questions. Reguardless if you need months of treatment it may cost you time and money for a few months but think about the rest of your life. I'm 37 and I have an ok life now. Since I ain't going to kill myself and I ain't sure how long I will live I'm glad that I got some relief. A nother 10 or 15 years of suffering the way I was man I probibly would kill myself. Just think of the benifits.

Hey LK1, I was going to say similar to Tex.

Anyway, look on the bright side of it. Who really cares if they keep you there for months, when you come home you will be a changed man and have some coping skills for when you go through a rough patch.
Just remember though, there is no magic cure, but they can give you a hand and help.

Just my opinion

I am starting a new job late May. I don't want to miss it.
