Strong Flight Response

I have this constant need/urge to move. I travel constantly. If there is a stressor in my life I MUST leave. There are many months where I'm away from home more days than I'm here. I often think how nice it would be to be able to be content in my home. I do battle with myself to stay put, but always give in in the end.

Does anyone else experience the flight response to this degree? Any suggestions?
 
Have you done DBT before? Rather than acting on those feelings that you must leave to feel ok, you "force" (perhaps too strong of a word) to remain in the moment with the self-talk of "these feelings are tolerable", "these feelings will pass", etc. in effect you're reinforcing the flight feelings by always leaving to feel better.

I think the skill is "distress tolerance".
