News Study Reveals Sexual Appeal Of War Heroes

Women are more attracted to war heroes than regular soldiers or men who display heroic traits in other fields, such as in sports or natural disaster work, according to new research. The findings also suggest that men did not find heroism to be a sexually attractive trait in women. In the study, 92 women studying in the UK were presented with hypothetical profiles of the opposite sex, representing varying levels of heroism in different contexts such as warfare, sport and business.

Huh. Wonder if / how the results would change if there were actual pictures. Or physical descriptions. Or, even better, real damn people. Most of the best combat soldiers I've ever met / known did not look like Hollywood heroes. Not that pretty boys didn't step up to the plate, too... But they were vastly outnumbered by ugly mugs. With an equal number of, um, character quirks.

I don't know. These studies just bug me.

What people think they want, and what they actually want? What people think they'll do, versus what they actually do when the rubber meets the road? How many times has that just been proven false?

@Santa_Laurie , do you WANT droves of women banging your door down? Especially if they are only interested in "a war hero"? Not interested in your sweet, loveable self?

I'll admit to finding my Marine irresistible. His politeness, intelligence and speech makes my heart go all a flutter. He's one of the most gorgeous men I have ever met. Not because he is billboard ready, or has a body of Adonis, but because he is a genuine soul that fills my mind with fragrant content. He has seen battle, he is a warrior. I feel safe with him in any part of the world and I learn from him daily. I am the lucky one here. He sets the bar high for me, and I want for him to be proud of me. Semper Fi!

truth be told many were ugly and I believe i was one of them but right after my combat time each time i came back home I noticed i had much more sex in my life with more females and way more often until my signs of ptsd started comming out. I guess combat veterans who put on a good happy face talk about the excitment of it all and the confidence shines so many females see that and like it even though they may not know why. However those kind of flings never really last very long, but they can be very fun while they do lol.

No offense to soldiers/warriors/herpes but that'd be a huge turnoff for me...Just goes to show...different tastes and all that...
