They seem to make emotions into parts, which I don't really get. how can this help?

This also confuses me. I don't understand how an emotion is a part. My parts HAVE emotions....

IFS: are you referring to Internal Family Systems?
I don't understand it; and definitely not into it.

But there are other members here who feel that IFS accurately describes their experience.

Yes.

I have read the haunted self, and I understand the theory of Structural Dissociation. It made sense to me, but I don't know how the theory applies to see actual change.

I know my T is just trying to find something that will help me. IFS I'm not sure on, although I wonder if unburdening a part might help? T has tried Imaginal Nurturing and that doesn't seem to be working either. Worried T just might give up on me!
