Hugs, Grace, if you accept them. I had a huge struggle with suicide. I see a trauma therapist and now I have some days where I don't think about it much at all. I didn't realize I had trauma as a child. I could see parts of it throughout my life but I would hide it away again. I didn't believe my therapist when he said I trauma, but then I became flooded with memories. Its is not easy, and upping my Zoloft did help me.
One of the other things that help me, its pretty corny, was listening to Skillet. It is a Christian alternative band. They have songs that really help my traumatized self. I am not Christian, but I do love their music. I also got The DBT Workbook and worked a little in that. That helped to. Coming to the forum every day helped so much I can't believe it. Going to therapy twice a week for 2 years helped too.
I have an emergency plan that lists things I can do to help myself. I use this often. I still have lots of bad days, but I know I will get some relief by doing the things on my list. I hope your therapist can help you, and God's grace fill you so you feel better.
