Swimming Thread

Hi Jaret! I have been meaning to post here for a long time now. OMG, Jaret as a child we did have a pool. Me, my brother and our best friend used to swim EVERY chance we could. We would stay in the pool all day playing pool games. (Wow, thinking about it has brought a giant smile to my face.) :D

Although, I used to get ear infections ALOT from going under water. Then I would have to wait many days to go back under water. Didn't keep me out of the pool though. :)

Thanks for reminding me of a great memory!!!

I used to dive into the deep end and then swim laps, I'd go way DOWN first though, as I loved to be deep underwater.
Sheila, I am not any swimming expert. but I believe going deep very first can harm you. First you have to warm up, get some shower, dive yourself into pool and do some breaststrokes or the style you prefer. Of course, going into deep can give you lots of pressure. I have felt that, but immediately I would come back to surface. I still can't forget the fun I had.

Hope you get healing for your ears.

((Niki)) Your post reminded me of the day I learned how to go underwater. That day I went swimming pool around 3 pm noon. It was very bright day. Everyone were trying to learn swim. I was learner, so I had to stay in baby pool. It didn't had much depth. Right now water level would be under my knees.

So I tried and tried for first two hours, then eventually broke my fear to go underwater. That day I was feeling pain in my eyes, due to going so much into the water. But my resistance was good, so I recovered very quickly next day. I loved that day. I was so happy that I learned something.

Thanks for reminding me of a great memory!!!
You did it,too. You also reminded me great memories. Thanks to you, too. :)

Niki, do you go to swimming pool at the moment?

I just found this thread. I loved swimming! When I was in grades 7,8 & 9 I was on the swim team, which was only in the summer. Every single night, M-F, after the pool closed to the public, we had practice.

That was some amazing hard work, but afterwards I would walk home through our little mountain town, in the dark, laughing and playing around with my best friend. Her mom would fix us a hot snack at her house and they would drive me home.

Swim meets were so exciting. I was not the fastest, but somewhere there is a 3rd place ribbon from breaststroke in a tri-county meet...

I definitely made sure my kids learned to swim, and once when we were at a lake, they watched me tread water for an hour without batting an eye, and were so impressed!

Haven't been swimming for about 8 years now, but I've moved into a place with a really nice little pool...:)

Wow, pumpkinpie that was great time for you. I am glad you have it again. Have cool time in little nice pool. :) (I am sure you will)

I won't race with you knowing I will lose to you or will be 2nd. hehehe. :P :D Congratulations on getting 3rd. It is good to have place in top 3s. I wanted to have race, but somehow couldn't.

I used to go in summer, everyday. It doesn't matter Saturday or Sunday. Just enjoyed so much every year 1-7 grades.

So I am also impressed to hear that. :)

So glad to see your contribution in this thread.
