General Taking Care Of Me

I was overwhelmed with everything that has been going on these last few days, so made a phone call and reached out for my own help and support.

I feel better for talking to someone who understand all that has happened over the last few days.
 
The last few months have been a bit of a nightmare for both of us.

Hubby and his PTSD and me with the menopause. Neither of these 2 good for either one of us and for a few weeks we seems to be both walking on eggshells.

Now we both seemed to have sorted ourselves out in our own ways and are back on the right path together.
 
Im so happy to see you finding your way. I'm glad there are cater groups near one. One thing you touched on that I have been wondering a lot about lately are those times when we need extra support for other reasons. We all have life stressors that can be incredibly challenging. Part of any relationship is having that person for give and take. Just today I was a personal crisis unrelated to my relationship and my partners PTSD. He did such a wonderful job listening and supporting me. Right before bed he just snapped. I asked a question and he bit my head off. It's so frustrating. He came so close to supporting me through a rough day....just couldn't keep it up. I just wonder about this. I know self-care is important but so is the ability to depend on your person for things unrelated to PTSD. We've tried code words, time outs, etc. for when I really need time. I'm taking other suggestions!! It seems like many of you have great ideas. Thanks, xo.
