Tell Me Something.....

Hmm.

1. I enjoy doing Math problems for fun- differential equations (used to have severe Math anxiety- don't know how it changed)..

That is interesting to me, because math is my worst subject, and I have test anxiety when I have to take a math test. Any words of wisdom?

I have a long list of things I could tell you that not too many people realize about me.

1. I smile even when hurting, and hide a lot of my issues from everybody I know in fear of it may scare them away
2. I cry in private, especially never to let the person who hurt me see me cry
3. Even though my mother didn't and still doesn't treat me the greatest, I still crave her approval of my decisions and want for a close relationship with her one day
4. I love my children so much I struggle with trying to not explode in front of them, especially now that I'm home with them all day
5. I believe in the power of prayer, and pray a lot
6. I love to write and hope to one day write a book of something, not sure yet
7. Love helping people and feeling needed
8. I'm pretty crafty and love doing arts and crafts
9. Believe in life after death, and believe in spirits
10. The book of Psalm in the Bible has prevented me from committing suicide twice (once when I was 10 years old, and once when I was 17 years old)
11. I still have anxiety attacks everytime I am going to be around my mother or my ex
12. I love people watching

I'll stop with that. Hahaha

Mom with PTSD

Love this thread, it made me actually think hard about the things i really can do, and in the middle of feeling completely useless, it turns out, I can a lot of cool stuff!
Heres my starting list:
I can play guitar, mandolin, piano, harmonica, trombone. (Not to proud about the trombone thing, but it's a looooong story, and I am/was good!)
I do speak a little Czech, (more than just the obligatory how to order a beer), same with Spanish and German.
I am a pretty good photographer.

That was some of the "practical" stuff.
Here are some useless ones, he,he.

I have watched every single episode of The Simpsons at least twice.
Same with MASH.
I have read The Hobbit and Lord of the rings at least ten times, never get bored, same with the movies.

Enough for now, I have to go feel guilty about "bragging" about being good at something! He,he (Maybe that last comment could fit in the "You know you have PTSD when... thread.)

Thanks Jadebear for starting this thread!

Whoa!!! (((((((Tch75))))))))))!

I like how you turned around your feelings about yourself in this post... I need to remember this, thank you!
I love your list!
You're not bragging, but I hope you do some more writing, sometime.
This is a wonderful thread, and so interesting about members :)
You're right, you can do a lot of cool stuff!

I have a bald spot in my head, near my hair part, where not a single hair has grown for as long as I can remember. According to my mum it was caused by a chicken pox scar but then my dad had a similar bald spot. Just a tiny round circle of baldness

That's amazing! I too have a bald spot where not a single hair has grown for years! Bet mine is bigger though!

Leave it to this thread to point out everyone's similarities!

If a blind person asked me what a cloud looks like I'd place a cotton wool bud in one hand, and a marshmellow in the other then ask them softly 'can you see it?'

If someone asked me to describe the octaves on a piano I'd pound my feet on the lower, deeper end and say 'see this end is thunder'. Then I'd run up and tap my toes on the upper end and go 'this is a sprinkling of light summer rain' - hear the difference? - that's an octave.

Now, now ISH. Would it be presumptuous to presume your bald spot has something to do with being so young? I can safely assume yours is bigger than mine. Has yours ever changed size as mine hasn't???

I have a hard time letting people get close. I let them get to a certain point and then I back off. I always worry that if someone really gets to know me, they will discover all my flaws....and run the other way. I find myself doing that online too...if anyone on this forum has wondered why I am friendly and then just completely stop interacting altogether......now you know why. Sorry.

Working a part time job is physically and emotionally draining for me, but I keep working anyway.

I love the movie "Fried Green Tomatoes". I have watched it numerous times.
