I am a Veteran with PTSD Depression and Anxiety issues. I have found some hope. I am currently living at Camp Hope America in Houston with other Combat Veterans. Pray for my recovery.

My thoughts are with you. Most folks on this board have marched the same path as yours. (Yes, it does suck the big onion.) From personal experience, I can firmly say 'yes there is hope'. Make every day count -- try to do something each day that you view as a positive. It could be something as simple as taking a dog for a walk and having some "small talk" with a neighbor. Little steps first, and believe me, all of them count towards recovery!

In the words of my 'shrink' (a three tour USMC Force Recon Vietnam vet) -- "It is OK to temporarily 'run away' when the stress / panic gets to great to bear. Try to remember that you are not in the forces any more AND you are no longer in combat." It is easier said than done, but it is like doing calisthenics -- it does get easier over time.

(y) Best of luck to you! (y)

Welcome Bruce, you'll find some kind words and good folks here. Just pull up a chair and join in.

BTW, tells us/me about Camp Hope, am unfamiliar with it. (Always looking for something to pass on to our forces).

Bruce, a very warm welcome to this forum.
We have an awesome support network and there is always someone here with advice and all of the advice given is from life experiences not a textbook.

The good news is that it will get better over time mate, like any good though, it takes dedication and hard work to get.

Good luck with your fight mate.

Jimmy

A warm hello to you from Dallas/Fort worth brother.
I will be sending a prayer your way. Also, if you or any of the other vets need anything like magazines, books, etc just let me know. I will be glad to send them ya'lls way.
Good luck with the program.

I've come late to this Bruce. Let us know how you are doing. And tell us about Camp Hope. I'll put a few downrange for you mate.
