A root canal here is only about $1500, FYI. It's the crown that's super expensive. (Another $1500 or so). You might be able to find a dentist that would be willing to do the work and five you a payment plan? That's whatvi ended up doing.

I can relate. A few years ago I had eleven cavities and no dental either, due to Medicare being my provider. I also didn't have any money and so it took years to get them all filled. I also lost one of the teeth in the process of waiting.

I'm sorry about your tooth. I've had many infections myself and it sucks. Can you put in on a credit card? Tooth infection is serious. . . Also I don't know where you live but I hear you can get much cheaper dental in Mexico. I've had a lot of dental work done in Thailand myself.

No, a trip to mexico would probably be similar in cost given I have a broken down vehicle I can't afford to repair. :( This would be the time to go though with ga prices being low.

Be careful about using alcohol around antibiotics. Some antibiotics act on anaerobic metabolism. The process of breaking alcohol down can cause the antibiotics to kill some of your cells as well.

Fiddling with the tooth before the antibiotics have the bugs under control can risk causing septicemia, and even at low levels, the bugs can damage your heart valves.

Cloves and clove oil are mildly anaesthetic and anti bacterial. Sucking a clove can help.

Where are you located? Can you try calling Dental Lifeline Network or the local health clinic and asking them if they know of anywhere you can go?
