Alphonso jumped out of Aunt Alice's arms and, trying to hide his shock and embarrassment, managed to stutter that the car had broken down and peter was trying to fix it.

So we locked him in the barn for a few hours and have just let him out. No change though.

Tea is what you can get tonight as we have not had chance to go shopping.

Just then it lightened and thundered so hard it blinded and deafened everyone

As Peter was deafened, still trying to fix the car although his eyes were bothering him, all he could hear was his own internal monologue, which went along the lines of

"Blimey, I was supposed to go and buy that chequered paint two years ago! This family of mine are very distracting. Now the weather, too! This all feels like such madness. You couldn't make up everything that has happened over the past while. I cannot see or hear! Whatever will happen next?"
