Greetings
Last night while sleeping my ears started ringing and it got louder, then I saw a thin vertical line and the ringing was replaced with a tone similar to a piano wire being way over tightened.

Then it snapped with a fierce report, then my vision went from violet to deep dark blue... then I twiched, a big one, my feet and shoulders came off the bed.

The twiching woke me up, but didn't open my eyes. I lay there for a while wondering what had just happened, then I tested everything and was ok.

Could this be the celexa doing its thing?

I would advise you to contact your pharmacist as this does not sound normal. This is their area of expertise, even over the doctor, although I'd probably call the doctor as well.

From Drugs.com drug check for Celexa website:

Call your doctor at once if you have:

  • blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights;

  • headache with chest pain and severe dizziness, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeats;

  • severe nervous system reaction - very stiff (rigid) muscles, high fever, sweating, confusion, fast or uneven heartbeats, tremors, feeling like you might pass out;

  • high levels of serotonin in the body - agitation, hallucinations, fever, fast heart rate, overactive reflexes, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of coordination, fainting; or

  • low levels of sodium in the body - headache, confusion, slurred speech, severe weakness, vomiting, feeling unsteady.

Some of the stuff you said about color sounds like synesthesia. There is a statistical link between that and PTSD. Then again, maybe it just had to do with the meds. I have a form of synesthesia and I had a series of purple dreams during a certain stage in my childhood trauma. During them my mind was repeatedly trying to reveal stuff to me about the abuse that I wasn't consciously ready to understand. I'm not sure if that's applicable to your dream or not but thought I would mention in case it is.

Did you have difficulty falling asleep before that? Had you recently fallen asleep? If you were in-between asleep and awake it was probably hypnogogic hallucinations.

Nothing to worry about but certain medications can affect it.

Greetings cat lady, yes it dose.
