I won't let my husband or anyone else take my bliss from me. I am the way I am and really I love that I enjoy surprising people with little off the wall surprises :D. My little brother is like that too. We are not much for "having" to give presents on said holidays". We are more into giving because we want to :applause:. The present I got my Hunny was a surprise gift of a Japanese Sword from a shop out of town that he had no idea I was rushing out of town to get. He wondered why I left so
early but I said I had to get back to get to back home to get "things" done ;). I loaded my Susie Girl and off we tore on up the freeway, straight past our exit, trying to make it there before they closed.
I was soooooooooooooo excited to get it because it was unlike anything anyone had ever given him before and I LOVED IT!!! I just knew it was so unusual that he would appreciate it and the thought. He did. I got the greatest picture of him lobbing it over his head shirtless, he looks so great and with that rare look of pure happiness :). SCORE!!!!
However, he is difficult to buy for or surprise. I do very different things at different times to try to bring that look. It is so hard to do for someone how claims to HATE surprises. :( I mean he HATES THEM!! I bought him a tree one year :goingtocry:, ok, not so great but it continues to grow, however, I do have the greatest Grandboys who love love love the gifts I sneak in on them and today I sent off carpet skates for carpet hockey YEAH!!!! Isn't that just the coolest thing???? The boys are 5-12yrs old and with all the crappy weather who wouldn't want to play that??? I would!! :insane:
Let me point out here though that my Hunny gives me the most awesome gifts ALL the time and is extremely thoughtful so I have no idea why he is not into getting them. I can't get him to discuss it with me but I do know he can't get me to stop so there PPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFFFffffffffffffffttttttttttt. I'm great at thinking about it all year long and I love to do it :) :) :) This past Christmas $$ was tight so I bought chunks of coal and little glass jars and hid dollars bills inside the coal and put little stickers and candy in the jars. A treasure hunt of sorts, they thought that was great and used the jars to put their money in to save up for toys they wanted. Since then I've been sending dollars here and there. I did the same for my Nieces and Nephew. I just love this stuff.
Anyway, that's my joy and makes me happy!
