I read it as a young adult. I love Stephen King's writing voice, his characters, his great moral sense.

One book of his I could not bear to even try to read was Cujo because I love dogs so much.

I also never could get through Duma Key. I tried three times post-PTSD. It's really good, but too triggering for me. It's about a guy who loses an arm in an auto accident but goes on to retire and start painting and becomes a successful artist.
 
I use to read Steven King, but his books just became to far out there for me. I loved reading his book "IT" But it took me months to get past the first few pages.
 
The stand is one I haven't read, I myself am trying to finish Duma Key, I haven't picked it up in years, I'm not sure why I haven't finished it, I love so much about it, maybe i keep putting it down because I fear it ending.


Cujo, left a bad taste in my mouth, read it a long time ago, left me sad.

Almost anything by him is amazing, hell, his book On Writing is probably one of my favorite pieces of non fiction ever.
 
It started off the miniseries well but I found it got silly at the end. Is it better as a book?

I never saw the miniseries. I read the first one that came out and it was ok. The unabridged one was very good. Have no idea why so much was left out of the first printing.
