P.S. I called two parents yesterday to inform them that their students' grades dropped below Cs and news spread like wildfire. They won't act out now. They didn't know that I had the power to do that.

Teachers almost have to act cocky because we really DO have to put up with criticism from so many different parties: students, parents, administrators, coworkers, the media, etc. We're not only teachers but we're also actors.

Truer words were never spoken. When it comes to managing students, "fake it til you make it" is a really useful concept.;)
Stay in touch with your passion. And you can 100% teach them without being liked by them. And grading. Yeah, that's the good stuff. I'm glad you're feeling better about it.
