Things My Kids Do

Our grandson had us in hysterics tonight.

Earlier in the day, my youngest daughter called in, which was not long after our grandson had arrived with his dad. He was sat happily eating some Pringles which granddad had given him, when my daughter out her hand round the side of him and pinched one off of the plate they were on. this cause quite a few giggles and shouts of "Get your own auntie Cherie."

This evening he brought it up a gain about her doing this, So I just said "Well she always was a cheeky monkey". His reply was. " Do all monkey's like crisps"

What can you say, he is only 4 1/2.

Went to Granddaughter's birthday party. She turned 8. When time came to blow out the candles on the cake, she did it very quick, then spontaneously said to all of us "I didn't make a wish. I didn't make a wish because I already have it! I had wished that all of you would come to my party"

Awwwwwwwww So awesome from an 8 year old.

On an unexpected visit, I served my grandchildren their favourite tea, pasta, sauce & cheese.
While we were eating it I commented to my son that his sister had made the sauce. At the end of the meal my 2yr old granddaughter said 'I want to ring Auntie Laura & say thank you for mato sauce, it's yummy' how's that for manners!

My daughter's sons were a bit curious about the stoma that I now have and she tried to explain to them what it was. They finally came to the conclusion that Mamie now has a schoolbag for her tummy. Now that's what I call logical. I love kids perceptions, they are the wisest.

Not MY kids and I didn't see this. Wish I had!

My daughter gave the new baby his first bath several nights ago. Put the baby in the baby tub inside her regular tub. To limit water spilling. Took the baby out and to his room to dry, diaper and dress him. Then went back to find the other boy, age 5, sprawled NAKED in the baby tub. OMG what I would pay for a pic of THAT, LOL

Oh and I missed this too.

My youngest daughter had her 8 year old daughter over to see the new baby. They let her "hold" the baby. Really it was just laying the baby on her lap as an adult was right next to them. The granddaughter, again 8, turned to my older daughter, the mom of the newborn, and said, "These are the precious times"

Awwwwwwwww

Last weekend i paid a surprise visit to my son & his family. It was his birthday & i'd bought him a cycle carrrier for his car. After a thorough inspection Liv age 3 tried to work out what it was so we explained how Dada's, Muma's & her bikes would be attached to the back of Dada's car then they could take them to the park to ride. After questions about why the car on the box was a different colour, that it might not fit, where would Milly (her doll) go & what about a bike for her baby brother we thought she was happy about it.

But....... enter Liv 10mins later to say 'perhaps i wouldn't like to do that thank you' I wouldn't like it. We think perhaps she thought she'd be on her bike on the back of the car! ................perhaps i wouldn't like that either!!

well this doesn't really count too much as a thing my kid did, but it's close. This halloween for trick or treat my children decided I should dress up. They chose my costume and I ended up having a blast with it. I think the funny part is what my youngest daughter said to everyone while trick or treating. "that blonde girl isn't a girl that's my Daddy." Just funny.
