Thinking Of Getting Another Pet

Congratulations on your new furbaby! What a precious baby.

Personally I couldn't handle a rat, they would pick up on my nervousness. I was a bit like that when we bought my son an hamster(they don't seem to live long) and an iguana. We had a guinea pig when we were little and did get bit, but he was a learning baby too. I don't think he meant to hurt us. An ex of mine had a ferret. Didn't like the smell and the little critter scared me, so yes, he liked to go after my toes.

Hmm...thinking of my luck with little critters, I think I better stay with the bigger ones.

Rats live 3 to 5 years typically. I'm going back to get her sister tomorrow morning. Thought about it and because rats are such social creatures and I can't provide attention 24/7 it would be good for her to have her sister. Tonight after work it is off to the pet store to get her a proper cage and some stuff to chew on.

I used to be nervous of rats until I played with a friends rat. Then I realized how amazing of a pet they are, not for everyone though. It's pretty rare for a pet rat to bite unless they've been abused or hurt, or scared.

Yep when I get freaked mine licks my hand or neck or run and skip happily along the floor if they down, if they do pick up on fear they certainly don't act badly to it. I must admit I usually prefer an animal bonding to me and me only and usually keep solitary pets, but having two rats has been a great experience and I would always get another two in the future over just the one! She is absolutely beautiful what a lovely blue she has for her hood, it makes me want more and toe snuggle her. I'll let you do that and instead hug my lumpy rats (one has a lump the other is one!) Oh I do love them so!

Enjoy :)

Introducing Pippa. She is a cream and white rex rat with dumbo ears. Stinking cute. She was very nervous and scared of me when I first got her this morning so I wrapped her up in a hand towel and had Luna with her. I let Pippa watch Luna interact with me, now she's fine.

Right now Pippa is chilling in the hammock and Luna is throwing the paper bedding out of the tree trunk house.

The funniest thing ever is to watch Luna and Pippa run and jump on each other and then take off around the cage playing chase until they get tired and fall asleep curled up on each other. Not sure why the pictures keep turning on their side, I had them rotated correctly on the computer.

Luna is an acrobat, Pippa likes climbing too but not as much as Luna.
