We started the idea back at Raytheon in '03:

Here is the result for most of the new point defense systems including the lasers:

Yes, that is a MIL-SPEC Xbox One controller coupled with a mouse and keyboard controller so both the console gamers and the PC gamers are potential operators. (formerly the IRIS lazer system, now called LaWS)
The Phalanx systems, CIWS, CRAM and SeaRAM are all using or being converted to these controllers.

Me, a Phalanx, and a MK combo and nothing would fly or go-fast for a couple of nautical miles...
Guess I have to stick to titanfall hardpoint matches instead.

I admit I stared a second but then, if someone's gonna be that stupid to even srsly contemplate the idea figures it'd be one them boho kids.
Anyway, has pointing out practical aspects of shit they lack to make it 'fun' experience cut through any? I mean the kind of not giving ideas, ABCs of why they'd be f*cked with entirely *normal* situations? Thinking they ofc wouldn't listen to practical experience since they soo know better, to them it's some abstract f*ckery, and the trouble situations are some ~extreme movie shit~ that 'wouldn't happen to them', in their logic, so I'd take the route of 'ok how you figure you get through day to day. Tell me about your usual day'.

You know this may be a great idea for our vacation. Can we get some of these kids out in the wilderness were we can deploy some tactics on them and see how they respond. If they want the thrill of the environment, we can surely give it to them. We are f'd up enough to come up with some truly evil and fun ways to teach them a lesson.

It's like the ASLAV's we have, the 25 mm and 50 cal are just joystick operated when locked down. They are all so they don't have to spend as much training the fresh faced teenagers. Just look at drones..... They can kill someone without leaving their own country if they want.

Very soon (not that it may not be already happening in specops), the operators will have little popup screens and will be able to do their own bomb runs.

The positive side to all of this is that our boys have a reduced risk now when tasked to paint a target, this can be done by satellite or drone, and with these fancy new four bladed types, they are pin point accurate and can actually fly in windows etc.

I actually took my wannabe army recruit son out hiking, gave him a double time 1 minute head start and then hunted him with nerf guns. Worked well, but next time it is paint balls. then frozen paint balls. Nothing like pain and PT to get the point home.
