Tossed Aside Again

Just remember that prazosin is a blood pressure medication that is used for nightmares. Your dizzy spell could correlate. I would suggest you eat well before taking your meds and pay attention after you take them. ;)

Glad you are ok and feeling somewhat better. Keep the inner dialogue positive, kiddo. You deserve happiness!

I was having a pretty decent day today, it is warm so I took Chelsea for a long walk, but on my way to work I think I saw my great-uncle's vehicle. He doesn't have a very common vehicle, it is older, and very distinct decals down the side. I'm fairly certain I saw it today, close to where I live. I don't know if I'm just over alert, and think I saw a vehicle very similar to it, or if I should call the police and mention it.

I'm very nervous, and I was doing better since talking to my T on Thursday last week. Right now I feel very unsettled and very unsure. Again, I don't know if I'm over reacting, or if I should contact the police, considering he doesn't live in my city but it is within driving distance. It is a large city so to see someone close to where I live wouldn't happen frequently.

@mytai - I think you should ring the police. Do you know the registration plate? Even if you don't, it would be a good idea to give them the description of the vehicle if it is unusual. At least, it is better if you log this information with them. It might put your mind at rest if you know police patrols might be on the look-out for the vehicle just to discount it, hopefully. You have every right to stay safe, and they will understand your concerns after all they have heard from you. Do you perhaps even have a police contact who knows about your case? That might make it easier.

Called my T right after I posted this and asked her if she thought I should report it. She said yes, that I'm not over reacting. So I called, and the officer on the phone brushed me off. Said unless it is in my apartment building lot, or I see the driver and can confirm 100% that it is him then not to call (he wasn't rude, but was dismissive). There was no way in hell that I was driving up beside the vehicle to look at the driver, I might as well drive my vehicle into the ditch, I'd be completely useless if I saw him - let alone if he saw me and made eye contact.

I think @Bedbug is right. You could always frame it that you had a scare today and would like to know who to call should you see him. You should really have an emergency procedure in place; though God forbid you ever need to use it.

If I had his contact info at work with me I would. Unfortunately it is back at my apartment and I don't get home for another 3 hours, by then the detective will be gone. @Bedbug, my preference would be to speak to those who know my case already.

@Echo, the emergency procedure is call 911. That's the extent of it. Other than making sure I'm secured in my car, apartment, or whatever I'm closest to.

I am really sorry to hear this and also agree with @Bedbug and @Echo and really hope that you are able to get through to someone who will respond and support you in this. You are doing so well in how far you have come over this last bit of time, and I am really praying that you can find safety within yourself and know that you can stop this happening again and that the actions you are taking are so positive and that you really can know that you can have an emergency procedure if you do need it and that there will be people who will listen and take it seriously.

God bless
Helen

Can you ring your local police station, rather than 911 and ask to be put through to the sexual assault dept. or get them to pass on an urgent message to that dept? Perhaps they would ring you right back. Do you happen to remember your police officer's name?

You are safe right now, @mytai, so keep grounding yourself. And keep breathing.

@Echo, I did call into the police station directly because it wasn't an immediate emergency. I can't remember their names off the top of my head, I know the one for out of city but he isn't the one I need to call.

Another thought - your therapist had to do with the police, didn't she? I wonder if she would have anyone's name or contact details. Don't think twice about contacting her again.

Failing that perhaps you can make sure someone comes home with you so that you can feel safe, even if they don't stay and then ring the right man first thing in the morning. Is there someone who could walk Chelsea with you or for you?

I'm sorry you have this scare, but maybe it is a good thing if it means you have a better emergency routine in place.
