Its a bandaid solution... take another pill to try and fix a problem, yet the pill creates further problems. Not the solution if you actually want to get better.

Prazosin was the first RX my psychiatrist suggested - he said it would keep me from dreaming at all. That doesn't seem right to me. I gave it a pass.

Don't we have a need to dream?

Does anyone ever wake up from a nightmare where it takes a few moments to realize that it's a dream by grounding yourself?

Catapres (Clonidine) helps with nightmares but does seem to also limit dreaming recall overall. You still dream some, but the dreams are less vivid, mostly. There still seem to be some dreams, but about 50%. I am not bothered. It's worth it to avoid nightmares. They occur more as "troubled dreams" and don't leave me as tired and upset the next day.

Unfortunately, I'm tapering off Clonidine due to bad side effect of limited circulation to the toes causing major issues. I can't be sure it's the Clonidine, but that is the 1st thing to have to let go off, as losing circulation to the digits is an issue I'm having and C. is often the causing factor. But I've been stable for almost a year, so maybe don't need it much now anyway.
