Trileptal. Any Experience With This Anti-convulsant?

I was just prescribed this by my p-doc. 600 mg twice a day. What should I expect?

I wish I could help! I was on it----had some sort of side effect that I can no longer recall, and stopped taking it. It's to be expected when you've been on as many meds as I have! I can no longer keep them straight. I hope it works out for you!

Edit... Now I remember!

I had the supposedly über rare white blood cell reaction. It was very annoying as doctors said it was SO rare I couldn't possibly be having that particular side effect. But, the symptoms matched up perfectly. I'll keep my fingers crossed it doesn't happen to you as it was quite painful!

It totally ate my memory! Triteptal, lamictal all the tal's caused me severe lack of concentration and memory! Controls seizures well.

I decided to write a response to this because I am back on this medication (I'm taking generic) 300 mg x2 a day. In terms of seizure control, this medication has ceased all seizure-like activity in me which has me still wondering about these 'unexplained' seizures.

On the other hand, I decided to post here because the one thing I notice is that my mood is very unstable. I can't recall if this was an issue with this medication or what the issue was which caused me to stop the medication back in 2009 (aside from a lack of insurance).

Being back on this medication, I notice that my anger is raging out of control... I don't know if that is from stress at work or if it is this medication. I'm kinda in limbo since The Neurology clinic in town refuses to see me. So, I am feeling like a ticking bomb... :(

Trying to get up to 1200. We shall see. The want me on 1800-2400.

Wow!! What are they prescribing this medication for in your case if I may ask? Me, I am being mistreated for seizure activity which may be a whole wolf in sheep's clothing.
